A Few Documentation Plans That Are Improved With The Use Of Laser Scanning Devices

Before the invention of laser devices, surveyors and building contractors had to rely on surveying equipment and take measures to get their measurements for new building plans. However, this practice left something to be desired. Even the best measurements taken with measuring tape can result in a property that isn't completely square or level. In reality, measuring tape and telescopes cannot provide accurate measurements down to the 100ths of an inch, the way that laser scanning devices can. The portability of these scanning devices is also a big plus. They can be set up both inside and outside to take measurements. Extremely detailed documentation can be created using our modern laser technology.

The most helpful pieces of paperwork created using laser measuring devices is the Elevation and Section Documentation. Laser equipment is used here to ensure that the correct elevation and incline of the landscape in all directions is measured. In addition, elevation and spacing can also provide information about the interior of home. Builders rely on this documentation for information about the roofline, curb and slab heights, doors and windows, and even decks around a new building or home. Elevation and section documentation provides necessary information for the appropriate height and placement of important home elements.

Standard Site Plan documentation is also created using measurements from laser devices and provides landscape or top views of the home or building. The Site Plan gives clients with an idea of what the final placement of the home will be. This documentation also shows contractors an accurate, to the inch, visual reference when preparing the property to build on. A great deal of information is provided in Site Plan documentation such as, building outline, door placement, canopies, mechanical equipment, curbs, parking spaces, landscaping outline, lighting fixtures placement, and signage placement.

Floor Plan documentation looks at the fundamentals of building a house. Contractors use the Floor Plan to determine where they will place walls, windows, doors and other interior elements of the home structure. It is crucial that laser measuring equipment is used in the creation of these floor plans to make sure that the house layout is accurate down to the last inch. A final important piece of documentation is the Reflected Ceiling Plan. It helps provide contractors with the location of security cameras, emergency lighting, sprinklers and fire alarms, as well as interior and exterior walls.

These four home building plans can be made with AS built drawings. It doesn't take a lot of effort to make accurate measurements with a laser device. Architects and contractors can rely on this contemporary technology to build safe, strong homes for their clients.
