Promote Your Company - Exhibit at a Trade Show

If you are getting a little fed up with trying to market your company and find that you take one step forward and two steps back, then you need to reassess your overall marketing strategy.

Perhaps you have always been happy using cold calling as your preferred method of attracting new business, or maybe you have felt you didn't want to run before you could walk, so taking it slowly was the best approach.

You obviously know about trade shows; in fact the chances are you have attended many, even if you haven't exhibited at one. It's possible that you have thought it is too expensive, time consuming and difficult, so have just left it alone. Certainly, if you're new to exhibiting at trade shows, the whole process can seem a bit daunting.

Before you consider the matter farther, take note of research that the Center for Exhibition Industry Research (CEIR) has undertaken. After talking to many trade show exhibitors around the country the CEIR confirmed what most regular trade show exhibitors already knew; leads produced at trade shows are more effective, and they get converted into new business more often.

If you are not convinced by the research then consider the following facts. Exhibiting at a trade show means you get to see and meet your direct competitors. This allows you to check out what they are doing and get ideas about how to improve your products or services. All you need to do is wander around the trade show floor to find this out; it couldn't be simpler or less expensive.

There's no cold selling; you have a focused customer base that's coming to you, the attendees want to be at the trade show. When they come into your booth it is because they are interested in your products, so lead generation is high.
This makes exhibiting at a trade show very cost effective. Accepted, they are fairly expensive to arrange and set-up, but the benefits are far greater than the cost. Nowhere else can present your product and services to so many people in such a short period of time. Everyone than comes to your booth is potential new client. You will more people in one solitary day than you could ever see in a week or more using other marketing tools.

Use the trade show to launch new products or services. You don't need to go to the expense of setting up a special sales pitch; your booth is already there, so there is no extra cost. You also get to find out quickly what people think and get feedback.

Exhibiting a trade shows lets you keep up to date with industry trends, meet and strengthens your relationship with existing client and you meet other business partners. All these create excellent interaction, which enhances your knowledge base, improves your company profile and builds your brand name.
If you've not exhibited at a trade show, check out when there's going to be an exhibition in your locality and book your space; you won't regret it.
