A new £10M care facility in Royton, Oldham is being protected by C-TEC's addressable call system.
The contract to protect the staff of the new £10M care facility in Royton, Oldham has been awarded to C-tec a company based nearby in Wigan.
The new call system operates as a staff-attack system at the new high-tech facility. Each consultation room is equipped with a call-point which can be used to trigger emergency calls. Should a member of staff require urgent assistance, they simply push a button and an alarm will sound at the master panel in reception, and also at the remote displays throughout the building, to alert other staff in the three-storey building that there is an emergency situation.
Graham Bell the companies specialist electrical engineer: "The fact that Quantec's call points can now be programmed to work in so many different ways means that they can be easily configured to suit a building's unique requirements. For example, as this particular facility required a staff-attack system, we simply programmed all the call points to make emergency calls only. The Quantec call system provides staff with the comfort and reassurance that, in the event of an incident, other staff will be notified immediately and come to assist".
The system includes a whole host of new features including attack tracking, user ID and staff attendance, the system also provides emergency alarm facilities for the Centre's disabled persons' toilets. Calls triggered in the washrooms will indicate at the master panel to alert staff that a person is in distress.
With its flexible call routing, multiple call levels, a unique data protocol that works down just two wires (power and data) and a laptop programmable system controller, Quantec can be tailored to meet the exact operational needs and precise layout of any building. For example, calls can be routed to different parts of a site at different times of the day and unanswered calls can be set to transfer to other areas after a pre-determined time. As such, Quantec is highly cost-effective and ideal for any call communication requirement including nurse-call, staff attack, cell call, affray, door monitoring, dementia care, emergency assistance or any combination of these.
