Why You Need A Mobile Website

There has been a rapid rise in the number of people accessing the Internet through their smartphones. And this number is set to keep on rising. So don't get left behind. Any London based web agency or indeed anywhere in the UK and overseas will recommend that you do so or else risk being yesterday's news.

Mobile web is the future

Fact: mobile web is here to stay. So take advantage of this medium and stay ahead by having a mobile version of your website. Put it this way, if you don't then your customers will go elsewhere. And there will be someone who has a mobile website that delivers what they need.

Part of your marketing plan

Your marketing plan will be comprised of several marketing methods or channels which are designed to reach large numbers of new and existing customers. These channels include SEO, email marketing, PPC and social media but why not include a mobile website as well.

Different yet complimentary marketing channel

This marketing channel will work alongside other methods but it is different to any other form of marketing. There are a whole set of issues surrounding the design of mobile websites which include screen space, navigation, content etc. So don't treat it in the same way as the rest of your marketing plan.

Differences between a traditional website and a mobile website

The most obvious one is size. A mobile version is designed to be viewed on a smaller screen which radically affects the layout, navigation and content. As an example, small sections of content which is short and sweet, and quickly gets to the point.

Bear in mind that visitors to a mobile website are doing this whilst on the move so will want to access information as quickly as they can. Plus they don't want to spend time looking through pages of content. So enable them to find what they want in an instant, for example the price of an item whilst out shopping or directions to a venue. Use your website analytics as guidance to find out what your mobile visitors are looking for.

It is a very different set of behaviours as compared with a traditional website viewed on a desktop or laptop.

A mobile website must be well designed and focused on the needs of your visitors in order to add extra value and increase your turnover. Take time to think of your mobile marketing strategy and you may receive a good ROI from it.
