Get A Lot Out Of Belonging To The LDS Young Women Organization

Young women members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints learn how to become the women they would like to be by being members of the LDS Young Women Organization during most of their formative teen years. Helping form young LDS women since 1869, the organization which was founded by the LDS Church President Brigham Young is close to being the oldest social organization within the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

All female LDS Church congregation members aged from 12 to 17 are in the LDS Young Women Organization. Adult Mormon women, the Young Women Presidents, head the organization's members at the congregational level. The female members of the organization are often categorized, according to their ages, into one of three age-dependant groupings.

The youngest of the young women are the 12 to 13 year-old Beehives. The two groups of the Mia Maids and the Laurels are the LDS young women who are respectively from 14 to 15 years of age and 16 to 17 years old. In addition to their normally scheduled Sunday meetings, the groups and their members partake in many activities with one another. A weekday evening gathering is normally known as a Mutual, and, can sometimes involve doing things with the LDS Young Men Organization.

The Sunday meetings are normally the time for prayer and hymns. The singing of and listening to Mormon hymns is for many one of the most rewarding periods of the entire week. Actually, some Mormon Hymn artists have found great success and have sold millions of albums or CDs. The popularity of these LDS gospel artists is not just a U.S. phenomenon; a strong number of them have had their songs translated into more than 20 languages and have also performed in many other countries.

Some of the singers and their LDS young women music producers even go so far as to sell their CDs at bulk rates along with their sheet music. This enables more and more people to find joy, strength and inspiration in the Hymns and other Mormon-themed songs. Most of this music is used by organizations such as the LDS Young Women, Young Men, Primary Society and Relief Society.
