Do Not Stuff Keywords

If your website is ranked on the first page of results of the major search engines, then you are using search engine optimization correctly. If you are not showing up on the first page, then you should make sure that you are not making any of the common mistakes that most people make.

One of the first aspects that normally comes to mind when people think of search engine optimization is keywords. Basically, keywords are what people will type into the search engines when they are looking for something. If you have keywords in the content of your site, then you will be found by search engines. You may start thinking that if you used a lot of keywords, that your website will rank higher in the major search engine results. This is far from the truth.

The first problem with using a lot of keywords in your content is that after awhile, your content will not make any sense. You will be sacrificing the quality of your website. This is not beneficial to you because, in most cases, if potential customers come upon a website that does not have quality content, they will not purchase something. Keyword stuffing makes your website appear to be unprofessional.

Another issue that arises when you use too many keywords on your website is that you will not be found by the major search engines. In the beginning, the formula that search engines used to find websites was that they pulled up the websites that had the most keywords. The businesses that were in charge of running the search engines realized that the quality of the content that was on various websites was poor because people figured out that they would show up if they had a lot of keywords. At this point, the search engines changed the formulas, and people had to use search engine optimization differently. This is actually a good thing because there is more of a chance that the websites that are in the first few results of the major search engines have quality content.
