Build Morale With Corporate Clothing

Keeping morale high is something that many corporations struggle with on a daily basis. One of the simplest ways of building morale among employees is to build a sense of community. Few things build such a sense of community as corporate clothing.

Clothing emblazoned with the logo of a corporation can make a group of employees feel as though they are part of a community, not just faceless cogs in the giant machine of a corporation. Employees that are a part of a group feel connected and bonded, and through that bond they come to care more about their jobs and their co-workers than just seeing their daily grind as a chance to put food on the table and a roof over their heads.

Many employers offer new employees a piece of branded clothing, most often a shirt suitable for wearing around the office, upon their initially joining up with the company. However, a store that offers corporate branded products at reasonable prices is also a great idea as it would allow employees to purchase additional products and continue to help build corporate loyalty and that sense of community.

Such stores need not only contain clothing, but other corporate identity based products could be sold in these stores as well. Many workers enjoy having a coffee mug, mouse pad or even a picture frame with the company logo emblazoned on it. Another idea would be to include products such as messenger bags or magnets. The ideas are virtually endless, and appreciated by employees.

Another possibility would be to offer these same products, perhaps at similar or slightly higher costs, to family members of the employee. Not only will the family members be providing moral and emotional support for their loved one working at the company, but there is something to be said about the thrill of being able to purchase products not generally available to the public.

Additionally, corporations could further build employee loyalty by having contests throughout the year, allowing employees to win various bits of corporate branded apparel or items. This is particularly effective if the prize is a more useful or expensive product than just, say, a pen or coffee mug. As an additional bonus, the very act of the contest can help build a healthy sense of competition among fellow employees which further builds the team spirit and thus morale.

Yet another idea would be to offer the occasional free product to employees with "no strings." This is perfect for the smaller and less expensive company branded items, and best when the products are handed out as a surprise with no ulterior motive for doing so. Such gestures make employees feel truly appreciated by the company and most people enjoy getting free things, even small trinkets, especially if there are no strings attached to the item.

Corporations should never underestimate the usefulness of a high morale among its workers. The relatively small initial investment that would be required to build this corporate loyalty and sense of community definitely will pay off in the long run. Employees with high morale are happier employees. Happy employees are more productive employees and, as just about anyone in management knows, more productive employees have a positive impact on the bottom line and profitability of the company as a whole.
