Now that you've got the perfect resume put together, it's time to send it out. The name of the game here is numbers. The more resumes you send out, the more chances you'll have of being hired. With each and every resume, you've got to come up with a good cover letter. Make sure the cover letters talks to the requirements of the job specifically. Show why you are the best for the job, and address it to the hiring manager directly, if at all possible. This may take a little extra time, but it can give you an edge.
How many of these should you send out? As many as you can. You'll find out after a couple week that X number of resumes sent out will get you Y number of return contacts. Depending on how well you handle these, you'll get a certain number of interviews.
This is key. Don't look at each interview as a big deal. Some of them you'll think about blowing off, because it's not really a job you're looking for. However, these are the perfect interviews to polish your skills. After all, the better you are at interviewing, the more chances you'll have at landing that fantastic job when it does come your way.
