These days, you may feel the challenge of cutting through all of the marketing clutter on the Internet, TV and other forms of advertising. One way to get your product noticed is to use promotional stickers or decals for your products. Decals are difficult to throw away, are viewed somewhat more as a product than an ad, and are very inexpensive to produce. These features make marketing decals and stickers as a very cost-effective and creative way for you to reach your customers and potential customers.
If you go to any trade shows, sponsor any sort of event, use direct mail, or employ sales reps, stickers and decals can be used effectively to market your products. Your promotional stickers can be used in two different ways:
As a free giveaway product to customers. One way to do this is to give away stickers that feature your company and product, and are somehow of value to your customers. If the customer places that sticker on their car, that is a free advertisement for your company.
As a different way to give information to your customers. It is a good idea when you can to print material the back of the sticker, too.
To make your marketing decals effective, you should try to appeal to your buyers and prospects. Make the sticker something that is valuable to her so that they will not throw it in the trash. They should want to display it because it is something desirable or cool, or because they want people to know that they use something from your company. Your sticker will need to be carefully designed in terms of its headlines, copy, fonts and colors to have the most impact.
When you are designing your marketing sticker, you should consider:
What is the outcome that you want? Do you want the sticker to push your company name, promote a product, or a slogan?
How is the sticker going to be given out? Are you giving it out at a trade show? Or at a special event? Will you mail the sticker on a postcard or on a letter?
Where do you want the decal to be applied? On a car, helmet, office cabinet, equipment, or lunch box?
How do you want your sticker to tie into the other marketing products your company uses?
How you answer the above questions is going to give you a good idea on the design of your stickers in terms of size, color, copy, shape and so forth. As you design the sticker you should remember that you should make it so that the copy can be easily changed later. That is, you design the basic overall look and feel of the sticker, which will be mass produced by your printing firm. But the actual copy is added after the sticker template has been printed, so you can go back and change the print to anything you want. This allows you to use your marketing sticker for many different uses.
