Even if there are signs of wear in the legs of the jeans, it can still be perfectly acceptable as a casual piece. After all, there are a lot of companies that produce pants that are brand new, but that are intentionally made to look tattered and frayed. This "worn" look lends a laid-back sense of carelessness to the wearer. As an additional benefit, it also stands to reason that re-purposing old clothing to create new, personalized fashions is a good way to save money over time.
