How To Choose Your Ideal Career For A Great Life

Most people are working in jobs that they don't really like. And even people who have jobs they like, they don't usually like their bosses. This is pretty common, and it's just accepted as being the way it is. Work is supposed to be terrible and your boss is supposed to always be on your back. Of course, it doesn't have to be that way. Most people just get any job they can, and leave it at that, so they don't usually see any other alternative. But since you are reading this article, you are smart enough to choose a career you really like. That way, going to work every day won't be so difficult. You might actually enjoy it. While it might not be easy or quick, choosing a good career can make the difference between a happy life, and the daily grind.

The first thing you need to do is list out everything you like to do. Write down as many things as you can. Be creative. Anything you've ever done that you've enjoyed, write it down. Don't censor yourself. Let your mind roam free. This can actually be quite an enjoyable exercise.

Next, look at all the things you like doing, and figure out which of them can be used to earn money. If you need help, then check out some job descriptions on any job site, such as Monster.com. This will give you an idea of what kinds of jobs people are hiring for. You might need to be creative, as sometimes skills can be used in a variety of ways. For example, if you like dealing with people, you can be a teacher, or work in retail sales, or even be a pastor in a church.

The next thing you need to do is to get four or five possible jobs, using skills that you enjoy using. Find some specific jobs that use these skills. This will help you with the next step.

Now you've got a few jobs to choose from, you need to see which ones you are qualified for. Don't worry if you aren't. If you see a few jobs that you'd really like, but aren't qualified for, find out what you would need to do in order to qualify. Some might require a certificate, some may require a two or four year degree.

Now you've got to balance the jobs you want, with the requirements it will take to get them. Use your own judgment. Figure out what you would be willing to do in order to get those jobs you want.

So there you have it. When you go through this process, you'll be surprised to find a few different career choices open up. Just keep going through the process until something strikes you. That will be the career that will lead you to a happy and wealthy life.
