Work From Home Business

Work from home businesses offer the average American the opportunity for a self-made income in challenging economic times. Often utilizing the internet, these businesses are quickly filling the small business market, a sector once dominated by small start-up corporations. It can be argued that working from home and coming up with the next great idea is what American culture was born from. Those attempting to supplement their income or seeking self-employment after being laid off should be commended for putting forth the effort.

The sad reality is that with the increasing burden of government red tape and social welfare reform in the United States of America, the incentive to work hard, generate innovative ideas, and compete in these economic times is dwindling. With the gap between ultra wealthy and the lower-middle class growing, it is natural for people to make one of two decisions: take advantage of the system, or look for different opportunities.

It is a familiar story, where an individual who has failed to take care of him or herself now must turn to society and the government for support. A drug addict who has decided to quit the habit only after causing severe disability must still pay bills and often support dependents. Unable to work in a traditional or fruitful place of employment, this individual often turns to the government, receiving a paycheck for no services rendered and paid for by those struggling to make ends meet who did not choose to utilize drugs.

40 hour work week and separation from family. Work at home and online businesses allow a person to control their hours, the quantity of work given, and the amount they are paid. If a person is efficient with their time, it is possible to work almost double what a normal work week from the comfort of a recliner. Furthermore, a person can simultaneously pursue further education and employment opportunities without being confined to a restaurant, factory, grocery store etc. With the ability and freedom from working at home, people can now pursue other more relevant options to their personal careers and reduce problems like commute times in heavy traffic, reliance upon work infrastructure and hierarchy, and limitations on personal decision-making.

The largest benefit to the individual for businesses from home is the focus on marketing him or herself rather than someone else's company. Self-marketing is quickly becoming the most important asset to a person's success in America's current economy. Working from home allows the individual to focus on projects and opportunities that they actually feel qualified and prepared to accomplish, rather than the confusing and often unpopular requirements from a boss. Working at home allows a person to focus on his or her individual talents and build a career focused around these talents. Many traditional jobs (restaurant server, banker, security guard, clothing store clerk, etc) do not allow a person to focus on their talents. Accession in these fields often requires a college degree, patience, and a degree of luck. Positions have to be available, politics are often involved, and the pay-off is seldom representative of the efforts to get there. Alternatively, a person can go online and within minutes be making money while watching a hockey game, writing an article about his or her passion on in life. Home businesses do not require a particular race, gender, physique, education, or mental ability beyond having initiative and basic computer and grammar skills. If more people would take initiative and even take a few minutes to work online each instead of sitting around collecting a welfare check, America would be in a much better state.
