Some Easy Steps to Create Free CD Sleeves

Ways to create free CD sleeves include preparing the supplies, making the measurements, slicing the outline of the CD case, adjusting the CD opening, folding the paper, and shutting the edges.

Whether you're preparing a CD to share with a friend, preparing a case for the newly-recorded disk, or needing a case to replace one which you've lost, you can simply create your own CD from supplies which you most likely already have in your house.

Get ready the materials

You do not need a lot of supplies to make your CD case; nonetheless, it's highly recommended that you prepare them before you start working and have everything you need on your own work table. By doing this, you can perform smoothly and quickly on making your CD case. On your work table, prepare the following items: a sharp pair of scissors, ruler, pen, cup or glass, glue, tape, and your choice of material for the CD case. For the material of the CD case, you may pick paper, vinyl sleeves, or perhaps card stock. You may even recycle an empty cereal box, if you wish to, and transform it into a CD case.

Make the measurements

Place the piece of paper or your choice of materials on the surface of the table with the improper side facing upward. Then, from one edge, measure 5 inches by ten inches, if you plan to use the tape in closing it; or 5 ½ inches by 10 inches if you prefer to glue the edges. Utilize your ruler to get the accurate measurements and create a straight line.

Cut the outline of the CD case

With a sharp set of scissors, cut the outline of the CD case with the lines as your guide.

Modify the CD opening

Rather than developing a CD case with a plain opening, you can alter it to make removal of the disk simple to do. Position the paper you just cut out flat on the table. Then, get a mug or glass and put it on the edge of one of the short sides of the paper, with half of the glass on the desk and the other half on the edge of the paper. Using your pen, trace the outline of the glass' opening along the paper's side. Eliminate the glass and you need to see a semi-circle drawing on the side of the paper. Cut out the semi-circle with a sharp pair of scissors using the line as the guide.

Flip the paper

Flip the paper in half, especially along its width in order to create two equal sides. You may utilize a bone folder or any similar object or material which is tougher than paper to fold the crease further.

Shut the sides

Bring each side of the paper together, and align one side perfectly against the other. Then, close the left and the right sides of the CD case by either placing a thin ribbon of glue or utilizing tape on the sides. If you want to use tape, cut 5 inches of it or a little bit less, so that it will not exceed the top or base of the CD case.

You may decorate your new CD case with stickers or write a label on it.
