Next, you want to research all the possible products and services you've come up with. What you want to do is find one where there is a big market, meaning a bunch of people that would likely buy this product or service, but few people who are already providing it. If there are already plenty of people providing it then it's probably not a good market to get into.

There are plenty of places to find business opportunities. Take a look at your local book store, and look at all the magazines on the racks. These are filled with advertisements of products that people are already buying. Look at some of the ads, and think of your neighborhood. If there are large number of ads for a certain product, but you can't buy that physical product anywhere in your neighborhood, then there's an opportunity for a business.

Check and see if you need a license. You'd be surprised these days how many businesses are controlled like this. Also find out what the licensing process entails. If it's pretty simple, then go ahead and do it. But sometimes getting a license requires several thousand dollars and a few years to get approval. If this is the case, you are better off trying something else.

Once you've got an idea for a product or service, you're going to need a business plan. Figure out how much time and money it's going to take to produce your product. Then figure out how much you'll be able to sell it for. Once you've got this, you know how many you need to sell per week to make as much money as you need.

Next is to set up a list of things to do. Put them in order of importance, so that once the last item on the list is completed, you are ready to open for business.

The most important thing is to be patient. Many successful entrepreneurs took many years before they were making serious money.

When you follow these tips, you'll be much more likely of achieving success. Just keep pushing forward, and never give up.
