Shopping for Men's Shoes

Shopping for shoes should take a fair amount of time, especially if you plan to be active in them at all. Even walking to and from the copy machine at the office can result in blisters or worse if your shoes don't fit properly.

If you haven't already, have your foot carefully, professionally sized. A couple of measurements of each foot will be best. Make sure to roll up and down on your toes a few times between each measurement. The ligaments in your feet may stretch or contract with activity, and the sales attendant can help to make sure you get the best fit possible.

Once size is determined, find a shoe that pleases you aesthetically as well as in fit and comfort. Take the time to walk about the store in the shoes. Pay attention to the way the arch supports your foot. Try wiggling your toes. Do they feel cramped? What about the top of your foot? Does the shoe pinch or rub anywhere? Is ankle movement supported and free as your activity in these shoes will require?

Women aren't the only ones who need multiple shoe options lurking in their wardrobes. Men will benefit from selecting pairs specifically for sporting events, a night on the town or impressing the boss. Don't assume you can use the same pair of shoes playing a casual game of football or cricket with your mates as you can when you take your lady dancing later that evening. The shoes you sport on the weekend likely aren't the ones you should wear on Monday when you need to impress your boss.

While you can get by wearing any old pair of shoes when hanging with your mates, that posh young lady you have your eye on is bound to have more sophisticated tastes. Be sure to keep style in mind when looking for that perfect foot gear for catching her eye. Deck shoes are hot this year. Considered hot colours, especially red, white and blue solids. Neutrals are a reasonable options if the attention of bright footwear seems a mite outrageous.

Bright colour is also the latest trend for spring and summer trainers. Red and white high tops support the ankle and bring extra life to the pitch or workout room.

Loafers in neutrals, particularly fawn and shades of light brown, will impress the boss with your footwear fashion savvy. Comfortable and fashionable, you feet will now be dressed to climb ladders and get the girls.
