Let Your In Store Displays Make The Sales

You have to admit: Seeing is believing. While there are many people who will definitely go out of their usual haunts to search for treasures at a flea market or yard sale, most folks want a more desirable graphically visual image on just how an item is able work for them. Make your in-store displays work to their best potential.

It all starts with placement of your display. Placing an item in your store window implies that it is a hot, trendy, new item. The way your storefront looks will be one of the main factors in drawing customers inside. You also give your customers an impression of the cost of your items, just by the quality of your window display.

After a person enters your store, you will want to continue to impress them. Using attractive in-store displays will put your products in their best light. Displays that are clean, shiny and not too cluttered help to focus the attention on the items that are being presented.

Most customers have a general item in mind when they are shopping, such as a jacket, a pair of pants, etc. The way you display an item will make other items more appealing, and the customer may feel compelled to purchase the entire ensemble. They will want to wear the item exactly the way it was displayed in the store. It may also open their mind to their own ideas, and they may wish to add additional items to make the outfit their own. Creating a display that shows how an item works with different colors or jewelry stirs the imagination, also.

Use every surface you have for your in-store display, as long as you don't overdo it. There are wonderful fixtures available to display items on your walls, but remember to leave plenty of space between items. You never want to give an impression of clutter. Your customers would like to be able to see the items, rather than have to search for them.

Use lighting and color to create a mood. Certain colors create a sophisticated look, while others are more playful. After you have the proper lighting and color for your store, then use lighting to showcase your displays. Also, pay close attention to the colors of the items you have on display. As you place your displays, make sure that the colors do not clash with a display that is close by.

Signage also plays a huge part. Handwritten signs look very tacky and unprofessional. Create fun signs by using different fonts and colors. Or, keep them simple and to the point. As long as the signs are clean, clear and undamaged, they will add definition to your in-store displays.

If you have items that are not selling very well, it might all be in the way they are being displayed. Try creating a different display, using different colors or fixtures. You may wish to take an item out of the package and create a display which shows the item in use.

And, lastly, you will want to display items that will promote impulse buying. Smaller items can be strategically placed and displayed throughout your store. These may be items that do not cost very much, but will do a lot to enhance the buyer's purchase. Clever labelling of these items can make these a "must-have" in order to make the purchase complete, and the customer will leave feeling satisfied.
