Keep Mobile Kitchens Simple

Today's modern mobile kitchens can be as large as a restaurant kitchen and contains the same type of equipment. This can enable very enthusiastic chefs to cook an abundance of mobile food that's often of equal quality to food you can get in a restaurant.

However, you don't have to go to that amount of effort to enjoy having a mobile kitchen and doing a little simple cooking. While fancy food is great at certain times, nothing beats the old favourites when you are feeling a little hungry.

The simplest type of mobile kitchen, if you are just starting out, is one that can cater for making hot dogs, burgers, fries, popcorn and doughnuts. The great thing about this type of food is that it is easy to prepare, doesn't take up too much storage room and produces a good profit. However, do make sure that you buy quality produce. You will get away with serving hot dogs and burgers that are poor quality a couple of times, but word will soon get around and your mobile kitchen will be noted and people will avoid it.

Quality, buns, dogs and burger don't actually cost that much more that those of poor quality, but the second you start cooking them you know the difference. The smell is more pleasant and when it comes to eating a decent burger or hot dog the whole experience is so much more enjoyable.

One thing that many mobile kitchens get wrong is not ensuring that the food is hot. It's often cooked and then left to one side in a place that's not very warm. In addition, the meat will dry out, so always try to cook fresh; people don't mind waiting a little longer, if the food is going to be good. And do make sure you are able to provide hot and cold drinks.

Mobile kitchen are expensive to buy, but there are many used mobile kitchens available at substantially reduced prices. If you are starting out on a new venture, then it makes more sense to buy a used mobile kitchen. After all, you may find that this type of work isn't for you and you would need to sell the kitchen. If you do find cooking in a mobile kitchen the perfect life, a used kitchen which has been kept in good condition can easily be sold for nearly the same amount of money that you paid for it. They don't devalue too much, unlike cars.

Before you make your final decision about getting a mobile kitchen, make sure you check out the food hygiene laws. You will probably have to get checked out and you may need to attend classes to learn about food hygiene. Your mobile kitchen will also need to be checked out before you get a licence to serve food to the public.

As mentioned, keep it all simple when you first start out. If you do find you like the lifestyle you can always start to introduce different food; you r mobile kitchen will easily handle a wide range of different foods.
