How To Get More Clients And Sell More Stuff: 4 Steps to Market Your Business Online More Effectively

Are you spending too much money on advertising that just doesn't work? How would you like to get more clients - and sell more stuff, all while saving money and time?

If you're working hard, but you're just not getting results... I've got good news for you: There's a way to fix it - and it's not as hard (or expensive) as you might think.

Step 1: Assess your situation

First, take a good look at what you're currently doing. How are you getting traffic to your website? Are you getting enough traffic? If not, why not? What can you do to get more by making your website work harder for you?

Step 2: Get more TARGETED traffic

No matter how much traffic you're getting right now, you probably want to get more. Just make sure it's TARGETED traffic!

Targeted? Yes, this means website visitors who are interested in what you have to offer. So don't go for mysterious outfits that promise to send you loads of traffic. Chances are those people (if they're even people and not bots) won't be interested in what YOU have to offer. Get REAL traffic instead.

One key to getting targeted traffic is Google. Make sure you're getting found when your prospects are looking for the goods or services you offer.

You're NOT found on Google? If so, it's time for some adjustments. Learn about getting traffic and get busy!

Step 3: Capture your leads

Once you're finally getting all the visitors you want, you need to make sure to hang on to them. After all, if your visitors don't buy, they'll move on and you're left empty-handed. Unless...

Unless, that is, you're finding a way to get them to give up their contact info so you can follow up with them.

Of course, not all of them are going to do that, but if you use the right enticement, you'll find that a lot of them will.

Think about it... how much time, energy, and money have you spent on getting traffic to your website? Chances are it's a lot! So make sure you're hanging on to your leads.

In fact, your business lives and dies based on how many leads you capture - and how many of them you can turn into clients.

Don't worry about the word "capture" - there's nothing unsavory involved. All you do is "bribe" your leads by offering them something they want so they will happily allow you to send them more information - and sell them stuff.

Step 4: What does it take to capture those leads

What does it take to "bribe" and capture those leads? A lead capture system. It may sound complicated, but it's really not.

It does involve a few components - an opt-in form, the ethical bribe (i.e., something that will inspire people to give up their contact info), a data base to capture their info, and a follow-up email system also known as an autoresponder system.

Yes it will take a bit of work and it will even cost some money if you do it right (and especially if you get help with getting the copy written, but what you get in return is so valuable, it's hard to believe how many website owners fail to put this system in place.

I often check out the landing pages of people whose ads appear along the top and the right side of your typical Google search results. I want to see where they send their prospects... and more often than not, the sites are not exactly optimized for success, to put it politely.

Sure, some of those web pages are really quite attractive, yet they don't do their job. They can't!

What's their job? Their job is to bring their owners business. Unfortunately, they're not designed to do that.

The two worst mistakes are that there's no effective call to action, and that there's no compelling reason for the visitors to give up their contact info. In fact, some websites don't even offer a way for visitors to do so even if they wanted to.

Some business owners try, but their enticement is just not effective. For example, they may offer a free consultation, but let's be real... Most "free" consultations are thinly disguised sales calls, and people know it.

You've got to do better than that. Yes, you should absolutely offer that consultation, but do so AFTER you've collected your visitors' email address!

What about offering a newsletter? It's been years since we thought "You've got mail!" was exciting news!

So a lot of people are spending thousands on clicks and they get... nothing! Or at least not much.

How sad!

Don't make the same mistake. Get your lead capture system set up, create an enticing ethical bribe, and start collecting leads, turn them into clients, and sell more stuff.
