Why So Many Companies Pick Cloud Hosting Packages

It is no longer a possibility to run a for profit effort of any substantial size without being fully involved with computers. The internet has made location almost of no significance when it comes to making a purchasing decision, but it has added complexities. There are a number of strategies for handling these issues, so why are so many companies choosing cloud servers hosting services?

Before the computer age, people handled work with people in other cities or countries through phone calls, regular postal service or face to face meetings. This was a slow but unavoidable way to remain in contact with counterparts. It left a lot to be desired, as the pace of commerce always outpaced communication and made true real time collaboration essentially impossible.

The digital age has opened a new means of communication that allows nearly face to face capability without the travel. With this ability comes a deluge of additional information to help companies analyze and perfect their craft. This accumulation of data comes with benefits, and unintended consequences.

Looking back on the introduction of desktop computers, it feels as if it happened overnight. Forms, templates and research are instantly available and modifying them is as easy as typing a page. If the boss is traveling and one needs an answer, no problem; he can respond to an electronic mail at his leisure.

Much to the chagrin of employees, travel is no longer the primary way to meet with counterparts. Working with a project team from your cubicle is now a possibility no matter where the other team members are located. With all the information digital, collaboration no longer requires paper, or the time and expense of printing and mailing it.

With all the great news about networking and interacting over the internet, the problems seemed to sneak up on corporations. Just as when filing cabinets used to fill with outdated or unmanageable copies of work, the problem now was with an excessive accumulation of bits and bytes. Enterprise has an insatiable appetite for information, and even though it is digital, it has to be stored somewhere, and that costs money.

For people located in different areas or countries to work on the same project, every desktop involved in a project required the same setup. From the software applications to the storage capacity to security and power back-up, each person had a replica of the others. Even with the expense of all these redundant machines, updating everyone with new information had to be done in a serial fashion, hoping that the changes were compatible with one another.

As new as work over a network was, something different had to be conceived to make the concept of team projects work in real time. A central place, or super desktop, is needed for all project workers to interact with data and applications simultaneously. One might ask; why are so many companies choosing a cloud server service? The answer is; it works.
