So it stands to reason that you need to not merely produce content, but you want to create fantastic articles that invigorate and boost action. One of the crucial ways to keep your article writing skills on point shouldn't be to take a literature or creative non-fiction writing class; it is to plan your content before you create it. A predefined plan can turn a muddled article into an easy to read, value-driven masterpiece.
Naturally, when individuals hear the word "outline" shivers shoot up their spinal column and they see their junior high teacher positioned over them imposing structure upon them. If the word "outline" makes you cringe, then call it a design or a plan. You live to plan, right? You have to; you are an online business owner and they're experienced administrators.
So what is incorporated in an article content outline?
Phase 1
In the beginning you will have to start with the subject of your article. What is it going to say? You will also have to consider the idea of your article. If you are writing an article about mountaineering, is the purpose going to be to encourage somebody to find out how to rock climb or are you going to actually inform them how to do it?
Keep the purpose straightforward for an article. You are only trying to discover one essential idea or point. You're not authoring a book.
Phase 2
You now possess your idea and your article's intention, right? Let's imagine you're going to inform someone how to rock climb. This would be considered a "How To" article. "How to" articles regularly necessitate a progression of steps. Step one, locate a really good pair of rock climbing boots. Step two, locate a local ridge that's for beginners (5.6 or under in the rating scale) and so on.
If you are composing a tips article, then that will have an istinct framework and so too will an article that details things. If you're composing an article to stimulate or embolden, then you will want to reinforce your subject with at least three main ideas. This brings us to the 3rd phase of your article writing plan.
Phase 3
- What is your point? Within this step you 'll begin producing the skeleton of your article - the bones. You can mind map your article at this juncture, you can just list the points you would like to cover, the suggestions, the steps etc, or you can compose a sentence or two illustrating each item.
Before you start pulling it all together, you will have to return to the starting point and plan your first paragraph. This paragraph is probably the most essential paragraph of your article because if it won't persuade readers to carry on reading then there is no point writing more.
Your first paragraph only has to be be a few sentences and it must essentially tell your readers what you're going to express to them in the article. Continuing with the how to rock climb illustration, your opening paragraph might read something in this manner:
"Rock climbing is not just for intense adventure seekers anymore. Nowadays there are over 10,000 mountaineering gyms countrywide and many thousands of people are learning to enjoy this exciting new way to get and remain in shape. Whether you are climbing outdoors or indoors, the steps to learn to climb are the same."
Okay, at this stage you have your article's topic, its objective, your points and your first paragraph outlined and organized. Now what do you do ?
Phase 4
Well, now you have a couple choices. You can set it away to create later on. This is good if you want some time to consider some areas of your article. Alternatively, you can write your article, or you can write your headline. In certain cases it is much easier to prepare a persuasive headline after the article is written up and occasionally you 'll have your headline right off the bat, once you have produced your topic and article intentions.
When you're prepared to write, just write your content without modifying yourself (keep the editing for the end). Do not apply your keywords. Do not edit yourself for spelling and sentence structure; just write using the outline you've established. Let your thoughts run freely and do not impede yourself. Let you article writing skills unfold here.
Strengthening your article writing skills has very little to do with all the technical mumbo jumbo, like correct setence structure, spelling etc.. The real skill can be found in communicating your information to your audience in a way that speaks to them and forces them to act upon that advice. You can always fret about the technical stuff later.
Phase 5
Finally, edit your content, add your keywords in where they feel natural and you are done. Congratulations, you've just crafted a great article! And the great news is that with training, this planning and writing routine will get faster and faster.
