Get out of the house.
One of the greatest perks of working for yourself is that you can sleep in an extra hour if you had a rough night. You can work in your Pijamas. You don't have to encounter stressful bosses. You can even work with the TV on in the background if you please. Enjoy those perks as much as you can, but if you're not enjoying them one day—if you're not enjoying being at home—then don't be! Working from home all day, every day, can get lonely. And if you're lonely, you're not happy, and if you're not happy, you can't work. Find a coffee shop you like, or even a local lounge or bar with WiFi and a great happy hour where you can kick back and work for a few hours. You'll be amazed at how much it rejuvenates you.
Play music.
Sometimes, when you work from home, you will suddenly become acutely aware of the fact that it is very quiet. Like you think the world has stopped kind of quiet. When this happens, turn on your favorite music. Even get up and dance around and work on your singinghttp://www.thesingingzone.com/ a bit if you have to. This isn't with the purpose to sing better http://www.thesingingzone.com/success-stories.html. It is just to get you to actually use your voice when you may not have spoken to anyone all day! And, it will immediately perk you up. Once you've gotten the jitters out, sit back down, but leave the music on.
Meet with others who work for themselves.
Know any friends who also work for themselves? Remember, they might be available for a lunch break, a mid-day walk, or an early happy hour that your office friends can never make it to. They might even just be happy to have you come over and work at their home with them, or visa versa. Getting to enjoy the company of an actual friend, in the middle of your work day, will also re-confirm for you why you work for yourself. You don't have to be around anyone you don't want to be! And can be around your friends more often.
