After the expiry date, most service providers will give the client a grace period during which they can pay their renewal fee and renew their host name. During this time the websites, pages and emails will work as usual. However, after a certain period of pending renewal, normally two to three weeks, the service provider will put your host name under the redemption list. This will compel you to pay the renewal fee plus a fine for delays.

When the redemption period elapses without anyone renewing the domains under your name then your account will either be closed or be auctioned to another person. This will render it impossible for you to ever access this host name again. Additionally, your websites and emails will cease to function.
