5 Ideas For Creating Attractive Titles

Choosing the right title for articles or blog posts can be one of the most powerful techniques at your disposal to achieve more views for your pages. This gives you the opportunity to keep your current readers hooked as well as the ability to bring your site more traffic with very little extra effort. There are many different ways you can go about it - depending on what works best for your own individual site - and some of the more popular examples are listed below.

1. Include Keywords: By using search terms in the titles (as well as in the opening line) of your articles and blog posts you can massively increase the views they receive. This opens up your pages to the search engines and consequently allows more people to find them when they search for these relevant terms.

2. Play With Numbers: Choosing a title such as "7 Ways To Make More Money" or "43 Most Influential People This Year" is simply more eye-catching due to the use of numbers at the start. Your articles will generally get more clicks if you employ this technique, and this can also become a useful way to help structure your articles if you are stuck for ideas.

3. Tap Into Your Audience's Needs: If you know and understand the target audience you are writing for, then generally you should also have some sort of idea about what they need to know. Make it clear that reading your article will help solve that particular problem they are having by indicating it in the title.

4. Spice It Up With Adjectives: If your article title seems uncharacteristically bland, then perhaps it could use a playful change of adjectives to help liven it up. These serve no real purpose other than to draw attention, but in doing so they will likely score more hits for your article. Rather than a simple "Things To Feed Your Cat", try "Tasty Things To Feed Your Naughty Feline" - or whatever else works.

5. Ask A Question: One of the simplest things you can do to get more article views is to ask a question in your article title. The reader will naturally want to know the answer (if the question is intriguing enough to them) and will almost certainly click on through to find it.

There are a few other angles you can try but the above should make a good start - always think about how to best sum up your article, but don't try to oversell it too much or come up with titles purely for attention as that may damage your reputation.
