Entertainment At Kid's Parties

If you want to throw a kid's party either at your own home or from within a hired venue, but the responsibility of entertainment is a bit too much for you to handle, then it is worth thinking about hiring some kids' party entertainment.

Entertaining equipment hire such as a ball park, bouncy castle or laser guns tend to be hired out per half day minimum as opposed to per hour and most small kids tire of such entertainments after relatively short lengths of time. This is another great reason for hiring an entertainer, whose act, games and tricks will change every few minutes or so keeping the kids captivated.

Choosing a specialised type of kids' party entertainer makes it easy to pick and run with a theme. For example, if your entertainer is going to be a magician, then the invitations could be shaped like magician's hats, the birthday jelly could be moulded in the shape of a rabbit and you can pop edible wands in the party favour bags.

Having an entertainer at your kid's party will make their special day even more memorable. An outside entertainer that nobody knows will add a little bit of excitement and magic to the event.

Entertainers typically charge for their time rounded up to the nearest half hour, so it is possible to save a bit of money and book them for an hour after the start time (meeting / greeting / present opening) until half an hour from venue hire end (the guest's parents will all be back for pick ups and child containment!) If its not by the hour, then it is by the number of kids at the party so you can work out your budget and then work out how many kids you can afford to invite. Don't worry though, once you have decided on an acceptable spend, you will be able to find an entertainer who won't leave your wallet empty bar the moths!

Your choice of entertainer will depend firstly on your kid's personality, then on availability in your area, moderated by your proposed budget, the number of friends your kid wants to invite and the size of the venue you have procured for the event. Regardless, it is unwise to pick for your child - once you know what your available options are, let your child decide which entertainer they would like. This is the best way to avoid tantrums (both child's and adult's) on the big day.

There are a mindblowing number of different styles of children's entertainment. Kids from toddlers upwards will all be enchanted by simple entertainment such as silly clowns, puppet shows, balloon modellers, face painters, magicians and animal petting.

Whatever you and your child choose, you can rest easy in the knowledge that all you have to do is join in the fun, oohing and aahing along with the rest of the guests.....and perhaps help blow out any stubborn candles on your child's party cake!
