Free Can Be Good

You may be an individual who uses the Internet for entertainment and keeping in contact with your friends. You might be a business owner who has a website, making use of the Web strictly for business purposes. It is also possible you could work online, requiring access to many types of information and websites. The point is, there are many types of Internet users who have various needs. Among these needs can be different types of software designed to fill specific purposes on their computer. When this happens, you have several options available. You can simply research the sites specializing in the type of software you need, find your best price and purchase it using your debit or credit card. Another option is to find a package offering a "free trial period", download the software, and at the end of the trial make your decision whether to pay or try another package. Your third choice is to find the free versions, perform the download and go about your business.

Regardless of the type of software you need, there are free versions available online. There is free software to protect your computer from virus, spyware, malware and adware. You can find registry cleaners along with software which will analyze your computer's performance. Packages can be found relating to word processing as well as full accounting packages. You can find any type of software you need, none of which will involve any cost. There are many sites offering what is termed as "free stuff". These sites will provide information on their free packages, even giving you reviews in some cases. Yes, there are some trial packages mixed-in with them, just look carefully before you begin to download. Some of the free packages are what is termed as 'Home versions" of the larger package which carry a fee. Although the free Home versions may not have ever feature the full version includes, I have found them to be just as useful.

Yes, I have been downloading free software for many years, through several different sites. Although my favorite is CNET, there are others I periodically use if necessary. Please keep in mind there is sometimes risk involved. I use CNET because I trust the software to be virus-free. It is good to keep in mind regardless of how dependable a site is, there can be issues now and then. I have downloaded free software for various purposes, have experienced problems only once. I had found what I thought to be a great anti-virus package with all the extras. I downloaded the software and began to experience problem after problem. I finally asked a friend to access my computer remotely. He spent about an hour performing diagnostics before discovering the problem. The virus program I had downloaded was actually a virus in itself. Yes, it was a problem which could have been very costly. Yet, I understand nothing is perfect, I now use a little more caution before I decide to try a new package.
