Bentley Priory Luxury New Homes Scheme Launched In Stanmore

Barratt Homes, City & Country Group and The Battle of Britain Trust held an invitation-only event last week to officially launch the prestigious Bentley Priory new homes development in Stanmore, north London, culminating in an exciting fly-past from a vintage Spitfire. Redevelopment of the former RAF Bentley Priory began earlier this year and the event was the first chance for the press and representatives from all the interested parties, including forces veterans from the Second World War, to find out details of the restoration and redevelopment of the one-time headquarters to the Fighter Command during World War II, in one of London's most sought-after residential areas.

Set in 57 acres of grounds, this development of new homes in London will see the sensitive refurbishment of the Grade II-listed 18th-century mansion house, by specialists City & Country Group, and a sumptuous range of new houses and apartments constructed by Barratt Homes.

The redevelopment will comprise a selection of converted one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments and duplexes in the historic mansion house, where residents will have access to the beautifully restored Grade II-registered Italian Garden Terrace and the 19th-century parterre.

The new-build part of the development will feature a gatehouse of three-bedroom apartments, while luxury four- and five bedroom townhouses will centre on courtyards and crescents to create picturesque street scenes. Larger detached properties with indoor swimming pools will be available on a later phase. Prices in the first phase at Bentley Priory will range from £575,000 for a stunning apartment offering superb view across London to around £1.85 million for a four- or five-bedroom townhouse.

The centrepiece of the development is a new museum and education centre, set to open next year, which will commemorate the estate's long and illustrious history. The Bentley Priory Battle of Britain Trust has worked for many years to secure the funding for the museum, which will give the public the opportunity to appreciate the historic and strategic role that the site has played over the last 250 years.
